What’s the difference? Round Liner, Mags? – Beginner Artist

At T-Tech we have 5 main types of configurations including Round Liners, Round Shaders, Magnums, Curved Magnums, and Flats! If you’re a beginner you may not understand where to start and what the differences are. In this blog post we’ll help break down which type is best for what you’re trying to achieve. If the cartridge has a T at the end of the letters such as RLT that just means it is a tight round liner and the needles are grouped tightly together.

Round Liners
T-Tech round liners are configured in a perfectly round shape and are manufactured with long tapers to create tightness between the needle points. They are great for lining, dot work, detailed work as well as larger needle counts can be found used for shading small areas.

Round Shaders
T-Tech round shaders are configured in a perfectly round shape, similar to the liners but with shorter tapers to allow regular tightness between the needle points. T-Tech shaders are great for lining, shading and can also be used for dot work and for technical details.

Magnums

Long Taper
T-Tech long taper magnums are weaved by way of a flat needle to allow for better ink dispersion while tattooing. Tech long taper magnums and are great to cover large areas for tattooing, shading medium and large areas, as well as blending.

Bugpin Long Taper Magnums
T-Tech’s bugpin extra long taper magnums are weaved by way of a flat needle to allow for better ink dispersion while tattooing. Bugpin extra long Taper Magnums are #10 (0.30mm) in diameter with a 6mm extra long taper. T-Tech’s bugpin extra long taper magnums and are great to cover large areas for tattooing, shading medium and large areas, as well as blending.

Curved Magnums

Long Taper Curved Magnums
T-Tech long curved mags are weaved by way of a flat needle to allow for better ink dispersion while tattooing and have shorter needle points at the sides, making tattooing smoother and causing less damage to the skin. These cartridges are great to color pack large areas for tattooing, shading medium and large areas, as well as blending.

Bugpin Extra Long Taper Curved Magnums
T-Tech bugpin extra long curved mags are weaved by way of a flat needle to allow for better ink dispersion while tattooing and have shorter needle points at the sides, making tattooing smoother and causing less damage to the skin.These cartridges are great to color pack large areas for tattooing, shading medium and large areas, as well as blending.

Flats
T-Tech flats allow for better ink dispersion and covering large areas while tattooing. They can also be used in lining and deep color packing, such as used in traditional styles.
